Welcome to Tried & Tested, Today I’m reviewing the Cenia ConVI Fit Jean $99 available at Cenianewyork.com. (15% off to ilovejeans readers)
I posted about this jean a couple of weeks ago and now I’m able to give you my first had review. As you can see from the image above I have worn my ConVI jeans while working and out and about. Here’s what I have found…….
The Fit: The ConVI Jean is a second skin skinny, with faux front pockets to give a clean line around the tummy area. It is a true skinny jean and feels like a legging when putting them on. The size I’m reviewing is an XS which is a 0-2 size. The Cenia ConVi Jean comes in 2 washes, medium blue, Indigo blue, Sizes start at (X Small) 0-2, (Small) 4-6, (Medium) 8-10, (Large) 12-14, (X Large) 16-18. (up to a 20).
The Rise: The front rise measures 8.5 inches (mid-rise) and sits just below the belly button. Click here to learn how to measure Your Unique Rise.
The Behind: Now this is where the jean comes into its own. On the back of the jean, there are two zips that work as darts to pull in the waistband when they are zipped up, very similar to how a tailor would take in a gaping waist. Because they are small zippers they can be unzipped too, giving the waistband approx 1.5 inches more room than with the zips closed. The pockets are placed higher up that gives a peachy shape to the bottom. The zips, studs and stitching are in a popular rose gold. The feminine stitching on the back pocket comes from the ‘A” in Cenia the designer’s name.
The Leg Opening: 4 inches.
Leg Length: 30 inches
The Fabric: The fabric content is very important in revealing the fit and recovery of a jean. The ConVI consists of 69% Cotton – 27% Poly – 4% Spandex. The 27% Polyester is what gives the jean the recovery! Wash on a 30-degrees and hang out flat to dry, don’t put them in the dryer!
Which Body Shape: The ConVI Jean was created out of the necessity or disappointment of the lack of jeans fitting a curvy body shape. These jeans definitely fill the criteria of banishing the gape at the back of the jean for many hourglass and pear-shaped women. It also fulfils the criteria for the plus size woman too.
As an apple shape woman, I was interested to see if this jean would fulfil my need for a fitted leg (it does), a slightly bigger waist for comfort (it does) and it also gives me the option to close the zips if I’m feeling the need to pull in my waist. It really is the convertible jean.
The Round-Up: I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised at the ConVI jean. Mostly with the hold and staying power it gives to the wearer. I’m now on day two of wearing and they have not bagged or sagged, I have not had to pull up the behind which happens a lot to apple body shapes as our bottoms are flat. With the zips closed the waistband is as tight as when I first tried them. The price $99 (15% off code below) is good value as I have paid more for jeans that don’t hold their shape as well. Definitely, a great everyday jean that ticks a lot of boxes for women who struggle with finding figure fixing jeans for multiple body shapes.
TRIED & TESTED SCORE: 9/10
