i love jeans shop

The I Love Jeans Shop opens up this Spring to showcase a Sustainable Denim Edit. I know your thinking ‘this is going to be expensive‘ but no, in fact, this edit is actually from your favourite stores such as H&M, Mango, Arket, Good American and Weekday.

Now I’ve got your attention let me explain. Our favourite fast fashion stores are trying to turn things around and not lose their responsible customer base. So they have joined The Fashion Pact, a global coalition made up of 56 companies and 250 brands, which aims to promote environmental sustainability in the textile and fashion sectors. Using organic cotton, recycled nylon and re-make using old collections. Creating lines or collections that will appeal to an enlightened shopper like you and me!

Mango

The garments labelled as Committed are products that have been produced using sustainable fibres or processes, reducing their environmental impact. Mango’s goal is to support the implementation of practices more committed to the environment and therefore increase the number of sustainable garments in the collection.

Keep an eye out when shopping in Mango Stores for the “Committed” swing tag as these garments are mixed in with the rest of the clothing and can be hard to find.

All of the denim pieces in this collection are made with sustainable cotton and some of the jeans have been washed using the Jeanology technology, which helps us save 45 litres of water per model. These practices minimize the environmental impact of denim fabric since the use of chemical substances, water and energy is reduced in its production.

H&M Group

The H&M Group consists of the much-loved stores ” H&M, COS, Weekday, Monki, & Other Stories, Afound & Arket“. The H&M Group have been forging ahead since 2016 for a circular & transparent fashion industry. It has also pledged to use 100% recycled or sustainable materials by 2030.

So think again buying responsibly and sustainably doesn’t have to be expensive. What is also in our hands is not to overbuy.

Zara

Zara is the flagship store for Spanish retailer Inditex which is the umbrella company to  Zara HomeMassimo DuttiBershkaOyshoPull and Bear, Stradivarius and Uterqüe

JOIN LIFE is the groups environmental labelling standard characterized by seeking excellent environmental attributes. This label is across the whole of Zara and the other stores under the Inditex umbrella. Again you’ll find swing tags on these garments or can see the collection online here.

So I hope I have demystified the fact that shopping for ‘new sustainable clothing’ doesn’t mean having to spend hundreds of dollars. To be truly sustainable always shop your own closet first!
