Read on for everything you need to know about everything you’ll soon be wearing you heard it here first!
Suno
Inspired by the textiles he saw while vacationing in Kenya, Max Osterweis founded Suno as an ethical brand. While the design takes place in New York’s Garment District, the pieces are crafted in Kenyan workshops, creating an intermix of NY cool and far-flung exotica. A mish-mash of colours and prints with a smouldering tribal feel, these easy, breezy dresses exude summery insouciance.
CHRISSIE MORRIS
Chrissie Morris’ bold and beautiful shoes set our hearts a-flutter! As exquisite as works of art, these teetering statement styles came colour-popping and buckled, in luxurious lizard and snakeskin finishes. We love the slightly Seventies feel of the collection…
very SS11.
RICHARD CHAI LOVE
It was love at first sight when we laid eyes on Richard Chai’s latest line. Considered the female counterpart to his menswear label, the collection has a classic, uniform-like feel refined with a modern downtown sensibility and a touch of whimsy. Surprising fabric pairings— silks mixed with wools, twill with georgette—are reined in with architectural touches like French seams and origami folds: the look is minimalist, androgynous and chic – all fluid layers built on a foundation of super-neutral hues.
JEROME DREYFUSS
Couples don’t come much cooler than Isabel Marant and her all-new-to-Matches beau Jérôme Dreyfuss. This duo are your one-stop-shop to Left Bank chic; and the jolies filles who can’t get enough of Isabel are going to adore Jérôme’s butter-soft bags crafted from luxurious reptile skins and subtle leathers in beautifully understated colours. We love that each one has a cute French boy’s name!
HAMILTON PARIS
There is something so feminine about the blouse
on a girl’s body’ says Hamilton Paris designer Charles Seblime (who previously worked for Yves Saint Laurent). Demure yet sexy, (think: a modern day Catherine Deneuve in Belle du Jour) the collection features sumptuous silk blouses and draped trousers in geometric blocks of bold colour…j’adore.
Z-SPOKE
Besotted as we are this season with colour, prints, and fashion that’s well, fun, we just had to add Z-Spoke, Zac Posen’s sportier, more affordable sister line, to the Matches family. Welcome to the clan Z-Spoke! Something tells us your cartoonishly pretty dresses, with their Daisy de Villeneuve prints, bows and girly sashes, are going to be very, very happy here.
