I often struggle with being a blogger as I find it hard to pose for a photo and when I do I’m very critical of how I look, too fat, too short, and too old! I prefer a quick snap when I’m not looking for a true natural shot. Anyway, I have found a great way to show you the pieces I love to wear without me in the way. Flatlays are my new thing. It’s simple but takes a lot of thought and an eye for detail to really nail it.

So with some encouragement from a blogger mate, here is my first effort to show you my style at the moment.

This Spring /Summer I have a real thing about cream lace. By colour-blocking my wardrobe I noticed just how many tops I have with similar lace detail. This is actually a great way to reset your style if you’ve got a bit lost following random trends.

I really like the bomber jacket shape and needed one that will work both with jeans and to wear in the evening, this lace one from Zara  fits in nicely to my love of lace. Creamy fresh water pearls are my favourite, the colour really lights up the face when worn as a necklace, this brown leather wrap with pearls I found on my travels through Thailand. The large freshwater pearl bracelet I grabbed at a jewellery fair in Barcelona. Gold works well with my colouring and this Chloe gold and pearl ring was a present to myself  because I’m worth it! A touch of animal print on these strappy Jimmy Choo flats I spied and pounced at Jimmy Choo, in Bicester Village.  I’m really loving the unfinished hem denim trend this season and especially on these Wide Leg Melanie jeans by Citizens of Humanity, It’s good to get away from the skinny look now and then. Fragrance can create a mood especially if it’s date night!  Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is currently on my neck.

Let me know what you think of my flat lay style!
