Sam feeling nervous at Jeans for Genes 5k race

The continuing story of  running the Adidas 5k Jeans for Genes Race:

We were so lucky the rain held off long enough for 15,000 women running for 1,600 charities to make it round the 5k course.

A minute silence was held for the anniversary of  9/11, my husband not realising why the whole of Hyde Park was in silence shouted out “Come on Sam”. Thankfully no one realised I was the Sam!

In my previous post – Pre- race (click here to read)

I listed my five goals below and i’m happy to report 4 out of 5 isn’t bad!

To complete the run without stopping. DONE
To prove to myself  I can actually achieve the impossible and run for 35-40 mins DONE (35mins)
To be able to collect my donations proudly! DONE
To be part of Team Donna Ida. DONE
To raise enough cash to be in the running to win the care package … TBC!

We are still collecting for Jeans for Genes so don’t be shy, there’s still time to donate.
