Dip dye denim + Ombre is emerging as a prominent trend on the runway especially in denim, establishing itself as a leading fashion trend. Picture denim artfully immersed in a spectrum of colors, creating a striking visual allure.

Dive into the mesmerizing universe of dip dye denim! Watch as your denim takes a colorful plunge into a rainbow pool. It’s all about the simple magic of jazzing up your things with a splash of your own style!

It’s a look I like as it’s a softer way to colour block with creativity similar to tye-dye.

D.I.Y HOW TO: Dip Dye Denim + Ombre

I have watched plenty of DIY videos on dip-dying denim and this one is by far the most enthusiastic and exciting to watch – You may even get inspired to try it for yourself!

What You’ll Need to Dip dye denim:

  • Your denim piece (jeans, jacket, whatever you love!)
  • Rubber gloves (because safety first)
  • Bleach
  • Distilled Vinegar
  • A bucket with water
  • Tie-Dye
  • Rubberbands
  • A measuring cup
  • A plastic tarp or some old towels (we don’t want a bleach masterpiece on the floor, do we?)

Let’s Get Started!

  1. Get Ready: Lay down the tarp or towels to keep your space neat and tidy. Before soaking your denim, wrap rubber bands around different sections you’d like to bleach or create patterns with. The tighter the rubber bands, the less bleach will seep through those areas. Gloves on! Let’s protect those hands.
  2. Mixing Time: In your bucket, mix equal parts bleach and water (1 part bleach to two parts of water) .
  3. Prep Your Denim: Soak your denim in water to help the bleach spread evenly. We’re going for chic, not patchy!
  4. Bleach Time: If you’re dreaming of an ombre look, start bleaching more intensely at the bottom, and then ease up as you move upwards. You can dip for a bold line or use a spray bottle for something more subtle. Keep the fabric moving to avoid any harsh lines and check the color change as you go.
  5. Watch It Lighten: This could take from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on how light you want to go. Keep an eye on it—the denim will look lighter when it’s wet.
  6. Wash Time: Once you’ve hit your perfect shade. Wash your denim with some distilled vinegar (4-5 caps) to make sure all the bleach is out. And let it soaked in 10 minutes and rinse.

Tie-Dye Time!!!

  1. Mix Dye: Stir up your dye in a container with warm water. Go for a lighter shade by using less dye, because you can always add more later.
  2. Dip Time: Pop on those gloves and dip your denim into the dye. Start with the bottom if you want the color to go from dark to light. Lift it slowly to create that cool ombre fade.
  3. Wait a Bit: Once you’ve got that perfect shade, gently squeeze out the extra dye and let it set for a few hours or overnight to make sure the dye sets. Make sure to hold the jeans with the lighter color on top so the dye can drip down into the darker area
  4. Rinse and Dry: Rinse it under cold water until it runs clear and voila, you’ve made ombre magic!

Dip dye denim+ Ombre is a trend that keeps on going strong!
