The best part of my job is that I hear about the hottest new brands from you guys,the people who love their jeans. L’AGENCE has flagged up a few times lately mostly from customers ( from the US) and then again last week from an experienced denim technologist whom I met by chance. She said they were truly great and I need to take a closer look.
The L’AGENCE launched in 2008 predominately as an elegant blouse collection. The brainchild of Stylist Agent Margaret Maldonado, MMA and Mother of Jermaine Jackson x 2 kids. The French Jean Collection launched in 2015, as the foundation of a woman’s wardrobe comprised of silk blouses, the perfect tee, and the French Jean. L’Agence Jean’s influence comes from the early iconic denims modernized with the most innovative fabrics and flattering fit.
The Jeans side of the business is guided by Jeff Rudes, founder of J Brand Jeans and his daughter Tara Rudes Dann is the creative lead. The mix of exclusive fabric, sourced in Europe is made in the US, this assures the best fit. Sizes are available in 23 to 32.
So lets quickly sum up, these jeans have 3 things going for them.
- The materials are sourced from Europe and dyes used are used in cashmere sweaters so will not transfer to your cream leather bag or friends sofa ( how embarrassing!) So blacks stay black.
- Waistbands are “contoured” like a tailored pair of suit trousers so they won’t fall down when you bend over.
- Jeff Rudes is involved in the design and fabric technology and he knows a thing or two about how to make a womans legs look longer and feel amazing in her jeans.
I’m sold! Ok so lets see below eight styles from The French Jean Collection.
The Zoe is a perfect frayed edge cut off denim short. Celine is a slim fit denim jacket available in blanc & Authentique Distressed. Loving the Mon Jules slouchy jean with rips at the knees and a tapered leg. If you’re a high rise fan then the Margot is for you, 9.5 inch high! ( strangely the same name as Paige’s high-rise). If you like a little bit of detail then the Emmanuelle crop skinny has a cute zip on the ankle. Another one for the high-rise fan, the Claudine is a 10.5 ich high-rise crop. Bang on trend is Charlotte mid-rise crop with a slight flare, it’s the new shape for the season. Last but not least is Elysee a sexy mid rise flare with a 33.5 inch leg length.
