“I can’t get a good fit in jeans, if they fit on the hips and bottom then they gape on the waist” – Sarah. US
“Too big on waist but tight on thigh” – Emma. London
“I’m fed up paying for alterations to have the waist on my new jeans taken in. Debra” – Canada.”
Sound familiar? This question has to be the most asked question in my 9 years of styling at ilovejeans.com.
This is my answer to the waist vs hips denim dilemma
#1: Take the Unique Rise Challenge and measure yourself from the crotch of your jeans to your belly button. This will give you the understanding of which rise you should be trying which will give you a much better fit of jean.
#2: Ensure the jeans you are trying have at least 2% Lycra ,Elastane or Spandex which will allow better movement and recovery on stretch.
#3: There are denim brands that understand how frustrating it is when a pair of jeans fit perfectly on the thigh and bottom but you can get you fist
into the waistband.PZI JEANS is a brand I have recently been introduced to and I’m impressed at the styles, washes and sizes available in the collection. These jeans come in a variety of leg styles, sizes start at US 4 to 18 ( UK 8 to 20) and 4 inseam legs. Check out their testimonials on what a good fit they are.
