This week we are reviewing the Current/ Elliott Suede Ankle Skinny in Haystack available at Donna Ida.
Today we have Rachel a Beauty Therapist, who is a UK 8, slight pear shape modeling the jeans in a size 25.
The Fit: The Current/Elliott Ankle Skinny is a suede skinny jean with a slim fit to the ankle and mid-rise. The fit is a tight one with a slight stretch to the suede with a soft luxurious feel. Sizes 24 – 28 available.
The Rise: The front rise measures 8 inches, a true mid-rise.
The Behind: The back pockets on the Suede Ankle Skinny are pert and square giving the bottom a neat look. There is very little detail on this jean as in this case less is more.
The Leg Opening: 10 inches a skinny fit down to the ankle.
Leg Length: The inseam is 30 inches, sitting on the ankle bone.
The Fabric: 100% Lambs Leather, in Haystack a warm natural colour. There is a stretch to this jean.
Function: The Current/ Elliott Suede Ankle Skinny is a jean of pure luxury, so one would say a statement jean but purely because of the soft suede rather than the “look at me” factor. Can be worn for both day or evening and kept as timeless investment piece in the wardrobe. Team with boots or heels depending on the season.
Which Body Shape: Rachel our model is a slight pear shape and the size 25 hugs her figure well. This skinny lends it’s self more to the Long & Leggy, Apple and slight pear, hourglass body shapes due to the mid-rise. The curvier you are you may find you need a higher rise. So let the mid-rise be your guide.
Tip: As I always say, no two pear shapes are the same and it’s your unique rise measurement that should guide you to the best rise for you.
The Round Up Of The Current/Elliott Suede Ankle Skinny
At ilovejeans.com we like to try & test a wide selection of styles to give you the audience a good understanding of the jeans available for your body shape. So this week we opted for luxury with the Current / Elliott Suede Ankle Skinny. The style is quite simple, which I think is needed as less is more in this case. The fit was good and Rachel could feel how easy they are to wear. As with most luxurious goods there comes a higher price tag, in this case it’s £ 855.00.
Ok catch your breath, now listen…. if you were buying a timeless leather coat you would probably expect to pay something similar or more. Think of this as an investment purchase, one you will pull out time and time again through out the different seasons.
Let’s look at the Cost-Per-Wear. If you wore these suede skinny’s 10 times the costing is £85.55 per wear! It’s just a different way of looking at things, also isn’t that what a credit card is for!
Tried & Tested Score: 7.5
