The print of the moment is Paisley, transforming the skinny and making it oh so accessible to the lead up to autumn and beyond. Paige Denim is the princess of paisley denim this fall available at Donna Ida in the Verdugo Ultra Skinny – Estate Green (below) and Exclusively in Marias with a shimmer of gold (4th down). Citizens of Humanity have worked the paisley print into these super chic stretch denim jeans and stretch-corduroy skinny jeans in gray available at Net-a-porter. Last but not least is the Goldsign Vivien Flare jean – Regal a silk palazzo pant with a wide leg and high waisted fit at Donna Ida.

DID YOU KNOW? Persia in the 1500′s was the birthplace of paisley, known then as the Boteh design quickly became known as the paisley print. Iranian weavers took paisley forward from approximately 1795. There was approximately one hundred years of shawl making involving the paisley and cashmere wraps. Scotland was the next stop for paisley. Scarves that once took a skilled Iranian craftsman three years to produce then could be produced in one week by a Scottish weaver. As in the past deep rich hues of paisley show off the design best. These are beautiful fall colors of reds, golds, cobalt blues and yellows sometimes created by weaving, printing or embroidery.

1) White jeans should be fitted & figure-hugging but never ever tight enough to create those thigh/ butt lines, stretch denim helps in this department.

2) Cropped skinnies or retro flares are the only two styles to be seen in. Anything that goes baggy at the ankle, hits your shoes or resembles a boot-cut should be disposed of fast!

3) Any form of an embellishment is a no-go. No glitter, no rips, no studs.
