OK so I’m a denim addict, there I said it and if you’re a regular follower you’ll know how picky I am when it comes to fit as well as service. Six months on from having my daughter i’m feeling the need for a new pair of jeans without an expandable waist! Not relishing the thought of squeezing into a dressing room or getting my legs out in public, I decide to give, Jeanography’s new home service “Fit First Time” a try.

Jeanography’s Fit First Time service boasts of being able to match people to jeans by using your measurements, your preferences and their product knowledge. Here’s 4 good reasons why I wanted to try the service

The service is available through the website jeanography.com and is promoted as soon as you get on the site. All the information is literately in black & white, so as long as you keep reading down the page by the time you get to register you’ll know exactly what to expect.
The registration page prompts me to create an account for £25 credit and offers a further £5 if I share my experience on Facebook,so like a good girl I share! Next is the important part for the Jeanography stylist to find my FFT (fit first time). There are five sections with drop downs to click on.
- Waist: The drop down menu for the waist size allows women like myself who are tittering in-between sizes, I chose the 26 to a 27 option.
- Inside leg length: Starting at 26 and goes up to 36.
- My body type is: Here are 7 shapes including Bottom heavy, Top heavy, Petite with curves and Athletic long and lean.
- I mainly wear: Gives a selection of leg styles to give the stylist an idea of preference.
- My favourite jeans brand is: I have a lot of favourites the list goes on.
That’s the science bit done now I browse through the site and pick the styles I would like to try. I have the choice to pick 3 pairs or leave it up to the stylist to suggest styles. I pick two styles and opt for the stylist to pick a pair. I’m informed the stylist will be calling me shortly to discuss my order.
The next day (a Friday) I get a call from Elizabeth the stylist who I find out with some careful detective work is in fact the denim buyer. Elizabeth is really helpful and knows her stuff, recommending I try a size down in the Hudson Bacara Regular Rise Crop Straight-Leg Cuffed in Sicily £199.00 (right) as they can be generous in the sizing. My next jean is the MiH Paris Mid Rise Cropped Slim Leg in Candy £150.00 (center) she suggests I go up a size. For my 3rd pair, Elizabeth suggest going with a different size in the MiH Jean to give me the size option. Typically not wanting to miss out on trying a new style I decide to try the MiH Ellsworth High Rise Skinny Leg in Loden £154.00. Elizabeth informs me that my jeans will be with me on the Monday ( no weekend delivery) and hope I enjoy the jeans.
It’s Monday and my Jeanography jeans have arrived! I’m excited to see the results of the FFT service and see my new jeans. Instantly I love how soft the denim feels on the Hudson crop jeans and Elizabeth was spot on about going down a size. The MiH Paris crop was slightly tight on the waist giving me a muffin top but I liked the length of the leg, so could be a contender for my next pair. The 3rd pair MiH Ellsworth (my choice) were too small.
So my new jeans are the (drum roll please) Hudson Bacara Regular Rise Crop Straight-Leg Cuffed in Sicily £199.00! Perfect, as I was looking for a relaxed boyfriend style for the summer.
The FFT service gives you a week to make up your mind as to which jeans you will be keeping or sending back and it’s as simple as making a call to the courier to arrange collection at a time that’s good for you. When the returned jeans arrived back at Jeanography HQ my credit card was debited and I received the £30 discount as promised.
The Round Up Of Fit First Time at Jeanography
The service ran smoothly and I knew at all times via Jeanography emails when my jeans were being sent and when they would arrive. A gentle reminder was sent to ensure I informed them of any returns. I didn’t feel rushed which gave me the time to try on the jeans with my own wardrobe in the comfort of home. The size information the stylist gave was crucial in finding a Fit First Time. Being able to call a courier to collected the returned jeans was so easy and even better it’s free! Getting £30 off was a true sweetener! I would definitely use the service again and I look forward to seeing exiting new up and coming brands at Jeanography.
