Women’s and Men’s wear Premium denim collection.
William Rast launched a huge international ad campaign back in September 08, which stars the music icon Justin Timberlake as William Rast alongside his girlfriend, super model Erin Wasson. The campaign takes on a Bonnie and Clyde theme with both characters on the run, and is currently running worldwide over three media platforms; viral, print and short film. The Spring Summe r09 Collection, Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala have succeeded in capturing the soul of authentic Southern heritage and married it with the edge of contemporary Hollywood to launch a full luxury women’s and men’s wear fashion collection for spring 2009. This extension will compliment their already popular and successful contemporary denim brand. These lifestyle collections are being developed and designed in collaboration with Paris68, the highly recognized New York based independent design consultancy of Johan and Marcella Lindeberg.
The ladieswear collection is inspired by the burning heat of the American South. The colours, the textures and the feel reflect a mood and reconfirms the direction of the strong, confident, sensual tomboy woman that is WR. The look this season mainly comprises of biker jackets and vests in denim, soft leather, and army fatigue cotton, trimmed with brass pyramid studs and worn with lean distressed jeans. Fringing is present on cute dresses, tiny skirts and cigarette pants. These sit alongside tartan miniskirts and deconstructed lace detail shift dresses. Oversized check scarves finish off this playful look.
The menswear collection draws inspiration from classic western styles and 50’s rockabilly. With a strong focus on distressed denim, hard-edge leather biker jackets and utilitarian inspired pieces, mixed with more sophisticated blazers and tailoring along with camo’s, worn military shirts and khaki’s. A genuine rock rebel image has been created with a contemporary twist.
